About Us

EDI( Educational and Development Initiatives) is a not for profit registered society working in the area of human development. Kamalini Vocational Training Center is a project of EDI. Kamalini seeks to empower women and broaden their horizons through skill development, knowledge enhancement and exposure.

The women in the surrounding villages of the Kamalini campus, in Sohna Haryana, face significant social and economic challenges that restrict their life choices and opportunities for education or professional work. Kamalini Vocational Training Centre seeks to transform them into agents of change in their family and society.


Position Overview

We are looking for a self-driven individual, who can provide leadership and expand the scope of our work. The person must be able to fit in well into the team and communicate effectively with our partners in the villages as well as our funders and supporters. The person must have a spirit of service and be sensitive to the rural ethos.


Key Responsibilities

● Project Monitoring Assistance: Create systems that effectively document and maintain records and accounts and be responsible for timely submission of high-quality reports to fulfil government and donor requirements.
● Fundraising: Write project proposals, maintain relationships with collaborators through regular effective communication and actively look out for new ways to raise funds.
● Expand reach and scope: Develop a deep understanding of the needs of the villages and plan new initiatives and build new relationships that will help Kamalini make real changes.
● Awareness building: Strategize and collaborate to build better awareness of the Kamalini project.


Qualifications

● Master’s degree in Social Work, or a related field.
● Previous experience in the non profit sector in a role of responsibility.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
● A commitment to women's empowerment and education.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
● Good computer skills, basic accounting knowledge
● Proficient in English and Hindi
